Organization Single Sign-On

CS2N supports OpenID Connect (OIDC) single sign-on for school districts, universities, and other organizations.

Sign in through your organization

If your organization is already connected to CS2N, choose Sign in with your organization on the CS2N sign-in page and select your organization.

Don't see your organization?

Your school or organization's IT administrator can work with the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Academy to configure single sign-on for CS2N.

Information for IT administrators

CS2N can connect to identity providers that support standard OpenID Connect (OIDC). To begin setup, please contact us with:

  • Your school district or organization name
  • The name and contact information for your IT or identity administrator
  • Confirmation that your identity system supports OpenID Connect
  • Your OIDC issuer URL, if known
  • Your OIDC client ID, if already created

During setup, CMRA will provide the CS2N redirect/callback URL and coordinate a short test with your IT team.

Sharing the client secret securely

Please do not send the client secret through email, a public form, or a support ticket. We recommend using Bitwarden Send to share the secret as encrypted text. A free Bitwarden account is sufficient for a text Send.

  1. Create or sign in to a free Bitwarden account.
  2. Open Bitwarden Send and create a new Send.
  3. Choose Text rather than File.
  4. Paste only the OIDC client secret into the text field.
  5. Set the Send to expire after a short period of time and, when available, limit how many times it can be accessed.
  6. Create the Send and provide the generated link to CMRA through your existing support conversation.

Open Bitwarden Send instructions or use another secure, temporary secret-sharing method approved by your organization.
