Sixteen year old Alexander Amini is an aspiring young scientist from Dublin, Ireland. Last year, he won the first prize for his project, "Tennis Sensor Data Analysis" Alexander began playing tennis at the age of 5, when he lived in Yorktown Heights, New York. While in New York, he went to Yorktown High School where he first took computer programming classes and learned Java and MS Visual Basic. He learned other languages such as Python & C++ in his spare time. He later moved to Dublin with his family.

There is still lots of time to submit to our animation competition: “Save the World in 60 Seconds!” The deadline for submission is May 6, 2012.

iCreate set out to create a technology that is affordable for teachers and parents and enables students to be creative and build learning experiences without having to learn complicated software. The result of this research was SAM Animation. Using a standard webcam, students are easily able to create their own stop motion animations with SAM Animation for presentations or telling a story. I was fortunate enough to catch up with iCreate’s busy founder and owner, Melissa Pickering for an interview.

Linus Torvalds is known for his contribution to the development of Linux. The development of Linux is a prime example of the ability for free and open source software to be incredibly successful. 90% of today's supercomputers runs some form of Linux.

Welcome to our newly designed CS2N website! We hope the changes make sense and that the site is easier to navigate. Coming up with the navigation was key. We needed to build the site so that it can grow (easily), and be able to be edited through our own interface.
