How to add Robot Virtual Worlds to ROBOTC

This tutorial shows you how to add the Robot Virtual Worlds (RVW) software if you already have ROBOTC.

 

IMPORTANT: If you don't have ROBOTC installed, please follow these instructions instead!


Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before downloading or installing Robot Virtual Worlds, make sure that you meet the following system requirements:

 

  • PC Compatible OS: Windows XP, VISTA, Windows 7, or Windows 8
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo processor family or better, AMD Athlon X2 processor family or better
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800GTS or better, ATI Radeon™ HD 3850 or better
  • DirectX: DirectX® 9.0c and DirectX® 10
  • Hard Drive: 200 MB free hard drive space
  • Sound: Standard audio device

 

Have a mac? RVW can be installed onto your mac only if you run a Windows emulator like Parallels, VMWare, or Bootcamp.

Step 2: Open ROBOTC Robot Virtual Worlds and go to Help > Manage Licenses

Step 4: Choose Product and Start Trial (or put in License)

Step 5: Your Trial or license should now be running. Click Close.

Step 3: Go to Robot > Set Compiler Target > Virtual Worlds

Step 4: Go to Window > Select Virtual World to Use and choose a World

Step 5: Open up a Sample Program to get Started

Tip: Start with a program in the "Basic Movement" folder

Step 6: Compile and Download program to open up World

Step 7: Go through the world!
